Happy Tails Stories

When Little Man came to us he came with his sister, who died about 8 hrs later after we got them. Both dogs were so sick and weak from starvation and dehydration. They were completely covered with sarcoptic mange, and smelled  so bad from the skin rotting. They were set  off on the side of the road and left for dead. Most people would have put them down, even the vet said she would have. But Little Man was a fighter, we spent close to 30 hrs of giving him pedialyte  and purred puppy food every 30 mints to an hr till we saw he might make it, he was pitiful to look at and spent the first month and a half in a kennel till he was safe enough to be held. Ivamec saved this puppies life and its a miracle drug but has to be used safely or you an kill them. Of course this is where Gloria McPherson came in and she had the experience and gave us the drug telling us how much to give him for 58 days. I really fell in love with him and it  was so hard to adopt him out as I wanted to keep him but knew in my heart that we would have others like him and I couldn't keep them all. When I see this picture of him, it was all worth it especially when he was adopted out locally to a wonderful lady whom I knew would give him as much love as I did. She named him Coty and he now lives on a mountain with his new mom Liza and Sister Frannie who  is a Lab, also adopted from a shelter and they all are happy and are doing great. I am lucky to get to see him regularly which I love.

This is Sebastian, he had came to us with his bigger brother Toby. They were rescued by a lady who works for a local bank when they were 3 or 4 weeks old. They to were sitting on the side of the road and she took care of them till they were around 3 months old and turned them over to San-Chris to be fostered and adopted out.  She did a great job. When Brandon Combs of New Tazewell  parents brought him to see the puppies  we had, he fell in love with this little guy, and his parents asked to have a few days to build him a nice good sized lot with A concrete floor and nice dog house they placed inside. I have talked to his parents since the adoption a few times and happy to say that they are all doing good together. His parent are teaching him to keep its lot cleaned daily and to fed and water him twice a day, Brandon even takes him out for walks and plays a lot with him in the yard. I'm happy  to see stories as these turn out so well and we try really hard to socialize  these puppies. Sebastian was easy to socialize as the people who have him now really say he is a joy to their life now.

This is Gloria, she had came to us with her sister Dingoals. They were rescued by a Doctors wife who brought them to Gloria and we took over the responsibility of rehabilitating them as they were very scared of people. It took no time for Gloria to be transformed over and now she is adopted to Mary Booth who lives quite close to us. She renamed Gloria" Sophie and reported to us that she is really fitting in to the family quite well. She states that she loves to go to the lake on the boat and also loves to be the center of attention. She has another dog and says that Sophie  and the other dog gets along quite good. She also stated that Sophie at first had a little trouble and took on some shyness, but day by day it was getting better. We are happy to hear the she is doing so much better now.
